Sequoia Elopements
We’re thrilled to celebrate with you!
Eloping is often the most adventurous, simplest, and cost effective way to make your love story official! Whether you choose a simple elopement, or one of our all inclusive packages - we’ll work with you to curate the perfect celebration so you can get stoked on the adventure, rather than getting lost in the details!
First things first - what’s an elopement?
Nope, we're not talking about spontaneously driving to vegas on a whim to get hitched at a chapel by an elvis impersonator (although that does sound wildly fun!)
Modern elopements are often slightly different - usually a very private and intimate ceremony for just the two of you, in a spectacular location. And if you choose to invite a small number of guests with you to celebrate, that’s typically referred to as an ‘intimate wedding’ or ‘micro-wedding (we offer those too, more details here!)
Traditional weddings can take so much time, stress, and financial burden to plan, that it's easy to lose sight of the real reason you're exchanging vows. Eloping gives you a way to celebrate your love simply, without the normal pressures of wedding planning
We have a few elopement packages to choose from, and if you decide to change it up and invite guests to party with you - check out our all-inclusive wedding collections! .
What does an elopement day typically look like?
Every elopement is unique to itself, but here’s what our day might look like - and we can tailor it to your own love story!
Typically we’ll plan to spend about 4 hours together (usually the last 4 hours before sunset!), and I’ll arrive as your prep is mostly complete. We’ll get some cute candid photos of you both getting ready - hair, makeup, details and outfits. Some people choose to help each other get ready, and some do their prep alone to allow for a surprise reveal. Your choice! Personally I think it’s really sweet to have a slow morning - coffee, helping each other into your outfits, handwriting your vows, dwelling in each moment.
After driving into the park from wherever you choose to stay, we’ll settle on the perfect ceremony spot. What’ll it be - fern covered meadow? Clearing under a stand of Sequoia Trees? Cliffside, for a vow-fueled adrenalin pump? Up to you!
Following the vows - it’s really fun to lay out a blanket for a sweet little picnic, have a couple bites to eat, toast a yummy drink! I think it’s fun to bring all your favorite treats - hit trader Joes for ALL your favorite snacks, candy and favs, for a cute little mountain picnic.
Once we’ve had a little bite to eat, we might adventure around to other favorite locations and end with a champagne spray at sunset!
When should we do this?
Sequoia elopements are absolute best in the spring and fall!
September, October and November are choice months for weddings and elopements. Fall is typically warm and dry - first snow usually doesn’t happen until mid or late November. Springtime can be cool and damp, meaning lots of fresh greenery! March, April, May. are best choices for spring events before the hot summer months.
If you’re dreaming about a winter wonderland, you can usually find that December-February/March, with snow often lingering on the ground until April. Usually snow meltoff is done on the forest floor by April/May. June starts to get warm, and July/August are typically pretty hot months.
It’s always best to consider weekdays if possible - for a much more quiet and private experience! The difference between traffic on a weekend and weekday is quite staggering, no matter what time of year - but especially in busy season!

You’ve chosen and booked your package! Now what!?
Nope, we’re not gonna stress about the details - cause the hardest part is done! Here’s a list of things you can do in the meantime as your date gets closer!
First, a little dream session with each other as a couple! Light the fireplace, get cozy, open a good bottle of wine, and start to dream about your day together! Ask each other questions like: What do we want our day to feel like? What will make it special? Do we want it to feel cozy and romantic? Adventurous and action packed? A combination of all the above? Once you’ve discussed this together, we can go into our dream session and chat about how to make the day perfect to maximize our time together! Browse the website for some photo inspiration, and make note of any favorite places you see! Many of the locations shown are within a 20 minute drive from each other, so there’s a great opportunity to hit a couple of the best spots!
Check the FAQ area - you’ll probably find a variety of topics you’ve been curious about!
Start to choose your dress, suit, outfits and accesories! Consider the time of year, and weather - will you need a cozy fluffy shawl or wool coat over your dress? Grandpas vintage watch, or cozy lined leather boots that will compliment your dress? If you asked my favorite suggestions I’d say: be yourself, but add tons flair! There’s SO many fun ways to add some excitement to your outfit - a custom western hat, bolo ties, leather boots, pocket watch. Think about what’s going to look good in nature! I’m huge fan of organic materials - think wool, cotton, leather, canvas, lace. Worn vintage items with patina can add so much beauty and class - spend the year before your wedding breaking in your leather boots! I think outfits look amazing when they’re clean, but have a worn quality to them - a good leather belt that has seen years of use can suit the vibe more than something straight off the shelf! If you need any style inspiration, let’s chat!
Start to plan your drinks & snacks. Are you whiskey lovers? What about opening a nice bottle on your wedding day, and taking a shot from that bottle on every anniverary? Do you love champagne - how about mimosas under the trees? Your favorite craft beer on a tailgate? It’s your day - might as well make every effort to have ALL your favorite things on hand - a charcuterie board, favorite fruits, candy, salty snax, we’re creating memories and you might as well involve your favs!
